Yesterday was a day to remember! The entire Englewood Community came together to witness the rebirth of Englewood Square, better know to true Englewoodians as the Englewood Shopping Center. Back in the day this was a commerce hub for the community. It was an area where you could pay your bills, do your shopping at FW Woolworth and grab a bite to eat. In 2000 Englewood had a poverty rate of 44% which was substantially higher than the overall poverty rate in Chicago of 20%. So to be one of the local suppliers of the Whole Foods Englewood has been more than a blessing. It overwhelms me to think my family and I are a part of the revitalization of a community that helped raised me. From birth until my mid 30's Englewood has been where I lived. Regardless of geographically zoning and demarcations I proudly continue to state "I Am Englewood". Moreover, I am proud of the rebirth that is happening in a much deserving community. It's exciting to have my products featured on the shelves of Whole Foods but, more than anything I am over the mood excited for the children and families of Englewood. No more blue lips and red fingertips. Cheers to healthy eating and now skin care options!!! Have You Indulged?
